HEY THERE! I'm Tsunaeshi

It took me a long time to have my style. Now I call it «compartments of all superfluous and will get what you need». I try to draw as simply as possible, but expressively. I like when the picture looks like a sign — when it looks good and harmonious and from afar and near.

So I don’t want to go too far into details, I’m focusing on shape and color instead. I admire the posters of Japanese designer Kazumasa Nagai — nothing special and just a couple of details, but something important and fleeting is grasped, so it's difficult to look away.

My story

I have always drawn for as long as I can remember. I drew at school in my classroom, I drew at home, I drew on the street and on the subway. At the age of 9, my older brother showed me the Fullmetal Alchemist anime — and I fell in love with Japanese animation and then with Japanese fine art and culture. I remember how diligently I redrawn my favorite characters, sketched out anime footage, and photographed my facial expressions in the mirror in an attempt to portray emotions myself. Since then, I have dreamed of becoming a professional animator.

After school, I ran home and drew and drew. I was a rather reclusive teenager — I had only two close friends. All my emotions were sublimated into creativity. Now I study at the university in the animation school, and I am happy! I know that my journey is just beginning and that it can be difficult, but I’m happy to do what I really like and follow my dream.
